Installation

  • We usually excavate 3 to 4 inches to allow room for the base material and proper drainage. Some projects may need more or less, depending on the conditions.

  • We use a 3–4” layer of compacted crushed stone for stability and drainage. A perimeter nailer board is added along the edge to help secure the turf.

  • ForeverLawn® turf has a perforated backing that drains water quickly—more than 50 gallons per minute—allowing it to flow through to the base and ground below.

  • We typically use a 3/8” chipped limestone. It’s clean, compactable, and offers great drainage and stability.

  • Turf is usually attached to the perimeter nailer board with stainless steel staples, though the method may vary depending on the product and edge design.
