Attention to detail is what goes into our approach to synthetic grass installation. Our skilled team meticulously completes every phase of installing new synthetic turf, from the initial prep to cutting, seaming, securing, and finishing. We eliminate the issues commonly associated with glued seams with a proprietary backing and seaming system. The result is mechanically bonded seams capable of withstanding temperature changes and exposure to the elements. Our seaming system does allow for residential do-it-yourself installation.
Why is ForeverLawn Penn-Ohio the best option to install artificial turf?

Our Installation Process
Step 1
Excavation & Ground Clearing
The first step in the installation process is to clear the ground of any covering or debris. A clear base is vital to the long-term quality of our installations. For existing lawns, this may include removal of sod, rocks, gravel, etc. Although new construction installations will not require the same time commitment during this phase (and therefore are typically discounted), time is taken to ensure that the ground is clear of any remaining construction debris or obstructions.

Step 2
Artificial Grass Base Preparation
-
Setting The Base Height: This enables us to ensure that the installed product will be at the desired finish grade.
-
Gravel Sub-Base: The gravel sub-base is used to give a solid base for the product while still allowing for drainage.
-
Grading: The crushed fine stone is carefully graded to ensure proper drainage and meet customer preferences. This sets the final grass level and helps prevent water buildup or poor drainage.
-
Compacting The Base: A plate tamper or roller compacts the gravel base, with water added to aid compaction and control dust. The sub-base is compacted to 90–95%, allowed to dry, and inspected for any inconsistencies before moving forward.

Step 3
Installing The Turf
-
ForeverLawn Layout: ForeverLawn turf rolls, which come in 15-foot widths, are carefully laid out to best fit the lawn. To ensure a natural look, all turf must be aligned in the same direction, making precise planning essential before any cutting begins.
-
Cutting the Grass: In this phase, the turf is trimmed to precisely fit your yard, accommodating any shape—from straight edges to curved, landscaped borders.
-
Securing & Seaming: The turf is secured with 6" galvanized spikes placed along edges and seams, ensuring a tight, durable fit. ForeverLawn’s proprietary micro-mechanical bonding system creates nearly invisible seams without glue, preventing long-term seam failure.
-
Rubber Infill: About one pound per square foot of cracker-mill rubber infill is applied and brushed into the turf to lift the grass blades and provide cushioning. Unlike sand, which adds weight, ForeverLawn’s stable backing allows for 100% rubber infill, offering a softer, less abrasive surface.
-
Clean Up: Proper cleanup is the final step, using tools like a blower, rake, broom, or water to tidy the grass.
